Who "Likes" my photos?

I like having the quick sharing buttons on my pages, but I was wondering if there was a way to track if they are being used. For twitter I have a search setup to find tweets that reference me, and if any friends "Like" a photo I can see it in my stream, but there is no way to know if someone I don't know is clicking on "Like".

Seems like it would be simple enough to log...in fact I would be surprised if it isn't already being logged... :D

Thanks!

Facebook knows who has Liked you - Smugmug does not. So Facebook would be the place to look. I don't know if they make that info available to you or not.

Supposedly, if you set up Facebook Insights, you can get some metrics on Likes, but I haven't gotten it to work yet on my site.

I see what you are saying, I just figured smugmug must know something since they are are feeding in the URL.

I don't mind the FB button in my gallery, and I don't mind them feeding me traffic...but I think I am going to pass on letting them into my site... :D

John, I think the Insights only work if you have a fan page. Clicking the link you provided brings me to the insights for the 2 pages I have set up and nothing about who has "Liked" my photos, just how many folks have liked the posts from my Fan Page.

I don't think our Like button on SmugMug is connected to the Fan Pages and probably won't show info there. Of course it could just be that no one has liked any of my photos yet...

Edit: As I closed the tab, I noticed the big green "Insights for your domain" button... so nevermind what I wrote, will try that and see what happens...

    Chris,

You need to add the required meta data tag to the top of your "Head" section on the Advanced Site Wide Customization area of your sm page. It will then be recognized by the fb insights page. However, I'm not sure that this works at all. I have been testing this feature out by having friends "like" my photos, but as of yet nothing has shown up in "Insights" even after 1 week. However, I have a few hits from August 17th, before the feature was turned on and before I added the tag. ne_nau.gif

I added the meta tags to both my smug site and blogger site right after I editted that reply and I agree that it might not be working right... I know for a fact that at least one of my photos recieved a Like last Friday (I did it myself just to test it) and nothing for that day is showing on my insights
