I see what you're trying to do in the second shot and its a good idea. I think it might work if you had a complete chair and then maybe face it out towards the corn (but try both towards the camera and away). Since the idea is sitting on the front porch enjoying a morning maybe even setup a table with a coffee cup on it. I would also work on the contrast on that shot (set a black and white point in curves).

You are right about the white point. Alas, I will not be making the 7 hour drive back there any time soon for your other suggestions.



The good news is #1 looks really nice as my background at work.

I'm not fond of the patio chairs, but even with them your updated version is SO much better. The scenery beyond the corn is so pretty!
