    I see what you're trying to do in the second shot and its a good idea. I think it might work if you had a complete chair and then maybe face it out towards the corn (but try both towards the camera and away). Since the idea is sitting on the front porch enjoying a morning maybe even setup a table with a coffee cup on it. I would also work on the contrast on that shot (set a black and white point in curves).

    You are right about the white point. Alas, I will not be making the 7 hour drive back there any time soon for your other suggestions. :(

    I'm not fond of the patio chairs, but even with them your updated version is SO much better. The scenery beyond the corn is so pretty!
