Went up to Bar harbor last week to visit my kids. As usual a great time and lots of photo ops in Acadia and Southwest Harbor and the surrounding areas. Took a Puffin/Whale watch cruise but the fog prevented us from seeing anything. Here are a few shots. I especially like the photo of the schooner, Margaret Todd, sailing into the fog bank. Thanks for looking.

    Ray -
I was also up there at the same time, should be posting some photos later in the week. I really do like that picture of the Margaret Todd with the fog in the background, it is a great boat to go out on. Hoisting those sails is a lot harder than I imagined. We lucked out with the weather, I drove up in the rain on Monday and drove home in the rain the following Sunday but had 5 days of sunshine in between!!

Had that picture made into an 11x14 and it looks great. We went out on the Puffin/Whale cruise Tuesday last week. The sun was out at the dock but when we got offshore it was solid fog and swells 5-7 feet and higher. Sick tourists everywhere and it was a chore just walking on the catamoran. I did pictures in Acadia and wanted to do sunrise on Cadillac mounain but got voted down. I go every year so I'll try again next year. Last year I got a great sunset at Bass Harbor Light and the Margaret Todd this year. Always nice to get one wall hanger each year.

    Thanks Hawkeye,

The 11x14 is just stunning. It was one of those over-the-shoulder shots that I saw out of the corner of my eye and it worked out great. It's a crop of a wider shot but held up well.

    Thanks again for you comment.

yep, the last one is the keeper of the lot... pity, though, you couldn't have shot it in vertical format from the pier in the foreground. personally, i find the dock a distraction...
