My buddy came to me because he is racing as a privateer rider in supercross and nationals next year! So he wants to set up a website for his bio and donations page. He wants to do a photoshoot with his brand new fully built bike and I have a couple ideas for the shoot. I either want to find a ranch style area close to San Jose or an industrial spot. The closer to San Jose the better because its a pain to haul a bike around. I know there are some people on here that are familiar with the area. Any help would be great! Thanks.

Hollister SVRA is probably your best opportunity for "ranch style". It's about an hour's drive from the San Jose Area. If you're not keen on driving, Metcalf motorcycle park is 30 minutes away.

More easterly, you'll find Carnegie SVRA. I don't know much about this place.

As a last resort, there's always 408MX. It doesn't fit the "ranch" requirement but it is a very nice track.

If your buddy's bike is a 2 stroke, Carnegie, Hollister and Metcalf operate in what's called Red/Green sticker seasons. Right now, you cannot run a red sticker bike at SVRA or Metcalf (county park). You can ride at 408MX though. If it's a green sticker bike (or plated), both places are open to you.

SVRA's are $5 per vehicle. Metcalf is maybe $6 per vehicle and you must register/sign waivers before you can ride there.

If you make suggestions as to what kind of shots you want to get, I might be able to help you a bit more.

Thanks for the quick response Ian!

I know of all the parks I just wanted something that's not cluttered and something different? He wont be riding we will be doing a portrait shoot with him next to his bike. Think of Transworld MX magazine and their pin up shots but less sexual and with a guy hahah

Maybe cruise over to Joseph Grant Park or even Stevens Canyon County Park. If you're going to push it into the grass or something, I might just drive down Uvas Canyon and shoot out that way.
