In my quest for good macro bug shots, I only managed to get to my front garden today...I did catch this wasp having a spot of blackberry juice...
...I think, looking at it now, that I sharpened the first too much, but other than that, what do you all think of these ones?
And this one of a spiders' lunch, which may not be technically that good, but I liked the "Horror movie" sort of feel to it...
All with M42 manual 135mm, at f11, with +10 macro filter and with super duper flash diffuser/deflector.

Thanks.
I see the lack of diffusion, but can you explain a bit more about the distortion? Only used the single dioptre on this one to try to limit that...
Cheers
need to add more diffusion to diffuser

A little more diffusion on the diffuser, also used the 135mm M42 manual lens with the smallest macro tube instead of a macro filter... how's this?

Thanks...this is the way forward now, I think...
The distortion shows up mainly on the OOF brightspots where you can see some chromatic aberration slight red/blue banding at the edges of the bright bits. The other thing that looked odd to mewas the leaf detail on the RHS of #1 which goes oddly ditorted as it goes OOF.
