The fawn in the lupines... that's greeting card material, for sure. Beautiful!
There is something about number 4 that bothers me, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is. It seems almost too bright? Probably just my aging eyes
Thanks for the comments!
I agree about #4. I'm not sure what it is. Looking at it now, it almost looks oversharpened, but I'm not sure. It didn't look right with less sharpening either. I also don't like that strand of grass or whatever it is that goes over his eye, but I still wanted to use the shot, since I liked him chomping on the lupine. I do have a similar shot of him that was taken directly after this one. Maybe it's better, I don't know...

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

What's the difference between a marmot and a woodchuck...if there is a difference?
Nikon d700, sb-600 external flash Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM, AF NIKKOR 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 D, AF-S NIKKOR 18-70mm 1:3.5-4.5 G, AF Promaster Macro
Using photography to pay for engineering school is a bad business plan.

I think you nailed it. I'm increasingly finding that simpler is better.
Good question about the marmot vs. woodchuck. I just looked it up, and a woodchuck (aka groundhog) is actually a type of marmot. I believe the one in my photo is a hoary marmot, which is just another species of marmot.
