I can't find any that are not indexed. Keep in mind, we're not unlike Google and other search machines - indexing may take some time but we will always get it done!
Hard to explain but the indexing seems to be coming and going. I've reloaded and had some of the keywording appear finished in the gallery, then clicked a keyword and not had the images show, then cleared the cache and returned to the gallery only to have the images show as "indexing" again.

Hi Andy,
I'm new to SM, so I'm still trying to figure out the vibe. How long is "some time", approximately? I'm aware it must take a while, but I'm also curious why some of the photos I uploaded about 12 hours ago are/aren't indexed. Thought I'd ask, so that I'm aware in the future.
I have the same problem with slow indexing
I have the same problem with slow indexing. 12 hour ago I've uploaded 33images (about 1MB each) - SM system is still indexing...
Having the same problem ---- seems to be taking as much as 24 hours for keywording (shows indexing for hours) -- therefore, not making virtual copies in smart galleries. Also experienced hitting refresh in smart galleries -- having photos show --- click save and then back to gallery -- only to see NO photos displayed in gallery again.
Here's what I'm working extensively in --- main gallery -- loading football game photos (indexing by keyword for smart galleries by player).
Note: Even after indexing shows complete ---- at times I have to go back into Smart Gallery & Refresh & Resave for the photos to populate (even a couple of days later)

Support Hero has just answered my support request and suggested me to wait up to 24 hours. I must say that it's psychologically unacceptable processing lag in user interface interaction.

I agree. I had this very same problem yesterday. It took hours to index. Usually it only takes up to few minutes to index new uploads.
Followup to the above by me
It took approx 12 hours for the last batch to index. Yes - it used to take only a few minutes. It is frustrating. I'm trying to load game pics, code the pics to populate "by player" albums and be able to move on to another project. However, the lag is making that impossible to do.
Besides the lag
there is still the issue where after they have indexed the keyword -- the smart galleries are not automatically populating. I have to manually go back into every album and re-save the smart rules. Bummer -- when you have 75 players on team each with an album.
The smart gallery populating automatically has been an issue for a long time -- I just have been living with it.
It was previously reported months ago -- but the bug still exists. Anyone else have that issue?

I've had this issue and posted in a similar thread about it. The issue for me is that I have no idea how long it will take or whether it will work reliably every time. Thus, when I have a deadline and not a lot of time to futz around or wait, my only predictable way to do it is to upload 2nd copies rather than use smart copies.
If they could guarantee that it would work in less time than re-uploading and it actually did, I'd be happy to use it. But, if I finish post processing at 9pm and the images have to be up in the morning, then I have to decide by 10pm whether I'm starting a re-upload to run overnight or whether smart galleries are working.

Reuploading just compounds the issue. The system will index the already upload photos before it does so for new ones. We aim for reliability on the indexing, and speed of course - it's fast right now, happening instantly. Sometimes when things go wrong, it takes longer - we regret that and will keep trying to improve things.

You didn't understand my post. When I say re-upload, I'm talking about re-uploading the pre-filtered set of images to a regular gallery and not using smart galleries. That costs a lot more upload time, but is reliable. So, rather than use a smart gallery to show my "highlight" images from a sports season, I make a LR collection of the highlight images and then re-upload those to a normal gallery (creating 2nd copies of all of them). This is how I used to do it before the promise of smart galleries and it's how I still do it when smart galleries work quickly and reliably. If they don't work quickly and reliably and I have a deadline (not time to muck around and wait for them), I'm forced not to use them and upload 2nd copies to a normal gallery. Less desirable for both of us, but it gets the job done predictably.

Yes, I've noticed the same for my smart galleries, too. I just hopped back into dgrin to see what the status on that was. Looks like I'm not the only one (I guess there's a comfort in knowing one isn't in isolation!)
I was just going to ask about this. This whole thing seems to be taking a lot longer then I would have thought. This just doesn't seem optimal or acceptable when any other free photo site has instantly.

Can I get a link to the photos in question? Thanks!

I uploaded 1 photo with 2 keywords several hours ago and it still shows as "indexing". This is completely unacceptable. Here is a link to the photo:
