She's grown up here on Dgrin.

Shot in the garage before we went to school.

    Thanks, Molly.

The nice light is due to my magical garage!

Amazing how quickly they grow up. Adorable as always and looks ready for her first day of school. Nice series to document the memorable ocassion.

Boy I wish I could get light like that in my garage. Always is either too bring and you can see everything in there or too dark. It is a basement garage faces north with a huge retaining wall to the west. You obviously have the perfect garage!!!

    Love them all!

David, I think any garage can work. You need to see how the light falls around the garage and place your subject accordingly.

Very bright, then move your subject a few feet into the garage.

If it gets dark, mover forward towards the opening.

Keep playing with it. A white, foamcore reflector can also be of some help to shape the light when needed.

Mine tends to work the best early in the morning (like before school). I know I can just pull the car out and shoot without any reflectors and get a nice, even light any time before 10am.

I may have to try early morning - late afternoon has not been working well. One problem will be the kids are NOT morning people!
