PSElements 8 for MACs question

Hi. I have used the photo merge tools before without problem. But now, I have two family portraits and I want to take a face from one and put it in the other.

When I try the merge tool it starts up and then gives me a message that the source box is empty. Whazzat?

I've selected the two images per the instructions and done everything step by step - but then this happens. I've tried several times. i've shut down and re-started my iMac. Stymied. :dunno

Can anyone help? Please?:huh
