Delete Photo acting strangely

I've noticed too much erratic behavior with the single photo "Delete Photo" tool lately. Sometimes it just doesn't "take". I have to delete photos a few times til they're really gone. Some of those times, I see the space where the thumb was, but no photo. Then I click on the space & it's there. Even refreshing doesn't delete it. Most of the time today, if the photo actually deleted, it never asked the safeguard question "do you want to delete this photo?" as it usually does. (Normally you have to click "ok" & then it'll delete.) Once today, when I deleted a photo that didn't go away, I then clicked on the invisible thumb space. It said "you don't have the right to delete this photo" or something similar! Some of this behavior has gone on for 2 weeks or so, as far as I can tell... don't recall exactly. P.S. -- the "Many Photos" delete tool seems to work fine... this is just a problem when deleting one photo.

When you get this error on the first try can you contact me? I need to see the exact status of the image after that first attempt to see if something is acting weird. Photos are deleting correctly for me. So I am not sure what is happening. I will be happy to take a look.

Make sure everyone who has this problem, see Doc Walker's post and email him on the Help Desk if it happens to you. Don't try deleting it a second time, but you may wanna wait 10 minutes (if you can stand to) and see if the photo disappears by then. He's going to want the photo's ID number, from the url of the photo. Just send the whole url of the photo if you don't know what I mean. He's having trouble replicating the problem, and of course today when I tried, the photo disappeared by the time he got to look at it. One photo took an hour to disappear, but it finally did. I wish the programmers would just work on fixing the problem of being bumped back to page one of a gallery after cropping or deleting. Maybe this bug would go away at the same time they fix that. Also, that's even more of a problem in my book.

Anna, please allow me to make posts about requests for information. I do not need a whole bunch of these. I just need a couple. So everyone does not apply.

The problem of being bumped back to page one has been bugged, it is on the list to be fixed.

Ok, sorry-- was trying to be helpful. We weren't told upfront (here) what would exactly be needed if we emailed you on the Help Desk. I failed to have some of that info. at hand when you needed it. People don't know these kinds of details if they've never emailed the Help Desk with that specific problem before. And I myself am not always going to have time to do all the waiting this entails, so if someone else has the problem & has time to let you know, I thought it would be good for everyone involved if they not only did so, but did so without the mistakes I made.

I think if you're going to tell people to email the Help Desk, it's not real useful if you don't tell them what info they need (here in the thread) when they email. Please realize-- all that takes time (sometimes a lot of time) and people are bothering to do it because they care. I care about the smooth workings of this site, and I don't just report something lightly, but that doesn't mean I know exactly how/when/with what info to report it. --Anna Lisa
