Thanks Gary. I shot this at dawn about 3 years ago, and I finally got it to look good in my eyes. :D

I like the lighting and the structure, but I'm finding myself fixated on the plant in the foreground. I probably would have attempted to clone it out, but I'm a little nuts like that.

Nice shot, Dan. It really showcases the unique architecture of the building while catching a glimpse of that beautiful Arizona sunrise.

And, don't take this the wrong way, but - was Pauly Shore with you that morning?

Sorry, dude, I guess my movie references don't always work.

The biosphere in your photo looks similar to the one in the Pauly Shore movie "Bio-Dome." It was a completely disposable comedy that almost everybody claims to hate - yet everybody seems to have seen it. I think the shooting location was probably chosen because of its resemblance to Biosphere 2; it's actually a water reclamation plant in Van Nuys, CA.

    Bing Birds-Eye of the Bio-Dome

    Personally, I like the movie.

    Howdy Dan,

Really looks like a wonderful place full for great Photo Ops.

Is this the same Bio-Sphere that they had locked Scientists
in for a year or so to see if they could be self-sustaining???

We went there on Vacation, can't even remember the time frame,
but saw them in there, harvesting crops and some were in the man-made
lake scuba diving I think harvesting Kelp from the beds they had in there.

Wonderful image, hope you have more to share.
    Take care,

Yes, exactly. No one living there now. I decided to shoot this at pre-dawn, so I drove out there at 3 AM only to find that there was a security gate long before the parking lot. I pushed a button on the gate and a security guard told me they were closed. I spontaneously said I was here to shoot photos. He asked who sent me so I said the University of Arizona. He replied, "they don't tell me anything", and he let me in. He met me in the parking lot and escorted me to the most ideal positions.

This happened a couple of years ago when I was just starting out in digital photography, but I felt so alive and excited by this little adventure. I have since come to realize that all photographic journeys are unique adventures, and I will be adventuring from now until my final days.

    Thanks for asking Panther :D:D

    Howdy Dan,

That's a wonderful Adventure indeed:D Good for you and your quick
thinking, looks like it really paid off and you know, the Guard probably really loved the diversion from his normal routine, and probably went home and told the Wifey about his assisting in a Photo Shootmwink.gif

Hope you have some more images from that Shoot, I'd like to see them.

Have a great Labor Day Holiday!!
    Take care,
