Digital File Sales

I've searched and can't find a discussion on this...if there is one, please drop-kick me too it.

I would like to read up on and learn more about pricing and selling digital downloads. Any pointers?

    Hope you don't mind me hijacking this thread to ask a question about the same thing.

    Looks like when a customer buys a digital file smugmug sends them an e-mail with the digital file to download but if I've uploaded the pics at the quality 7 file size as suggested, that won't print as a high quality photo they can use for their own personal use, will it? When they order prints I replace those files with a quality 10 file size.

    Btw, I'm allowing them to buy the 4mp resolution size.

    Thanks. But I guess I didn't make my question clear. I'm not looking as much for the "mechanics" of digital files. I'm more interested in hearing what other folks are doing to successfully sell them.
