A whale of a good time...

These aren't the greatest photos, but the experience was one of the greatest I've had. I was sea kayaking, and the guide told us to head towards the ball of seagulls. they form a big bird ball above the school of fish and then the whales hear the commotion and head that way too.

the first bird ball i came to, i got my kayak right in the center...and a humpback whale surfaced about the same time lifting my kayak off the water. it was a crazy moment.

The guide laughed and said, "Don't even think about asking for a refund, you just had your whale experience of a lifetime."

The photos of me were taken by the guide.

What an amazing experience! Pics are awesome in content. You may want to try working the colors & contrast a bit; I think the colors can be teased a bit. But I want to ask about the last picture. Are you holding an SLR in your hand without an underwater housing?? eek7.gif If so...you are a much braver soul than me.

    What an amazing experience.

All I could think of was the whale that hit the sailboat a month or so ago and how little that sea kayak you were in is.

Fantatistic, I found out earlier this month how difficult those captures are.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

The third picture worries me. I would be so scared to be tipped over by the whales!

    Great photos!
