My first attempt at a Senior Shoot. Had to keep this girl talking about teenage life because when I tried to tell her how to pose, the self conscious thing tucked chin to chest and started wringing hands behind the back.... but when she was talking and did smile, all was good.

I did not have any reflectors, diffusers, or flashes (I have 2 5in1 reflector kits, some triangular reflectors/diffusers and a 160 pin LED light coming tho)

Nice job: for me I like 1,6,7. I am just do ing some senior shoots my self. I am fortunate to have a young girl that loves to have photos taken of her and is interested in Photography as well. This gives me an eager model and me more practice with my strobe and umbrella and later on in Photoshop. I do have one suggestion for you. I find if you turn your female models sideways they will look more feminine and not so broad or wide. If the model is petite it is not much of an issue. I wish you all the best.

Nice job Lee! Some intersting poses there with your difficult subject. I especially like the grass/wheat framing in #9.

I think #3 is your best photo, really nice. #1-2-4-5 have pretty flat lighting. Your light needs to have some direction. There is a great amount of variance of lighting from top to bottom of face in #1 that is troublesome. Watch out for glasse frames cutting thru the eye. For a first attempt not bad but try to make them better with getting light direction to get some depth to the photo.

    Nice job
Number two is my fave but I feel that the color is just slightly off or perhaps dull.

Well.....you would be right in that it's a bit dull. She was sitting in the shade and I was shooting more into the sun than not.

That dullness is me adding about 1.5 EV and some fill to make a bad photo somewhat passable. I kept it because it was a good smile/pose for this gal that day and I didn't want to pass up giving the parents the ever rarer look of their daughter smiling.....rolleyes1.gif

I'm sure if I had PS or was trickier with LR, I could get the light I want and make it look better....but I should have shot it better in the first place. I can't wait to get my reflectors and diffusers in!

Do share your work when you get the new equipment. :D

I looked at the entire album, you have some nice portraits in there.
