Greetings!

At dgrin, we've been working on the various styles you use to view the site. Over time, some of them become obsolete for a variety of reasons.

On September 15th, we're going to obsolete some of the lesser used styles. If you are using a style that is listed in the Obsolete Styles section, please take a moment to change to one of the supported styles below.

Obsolete Styles
  • Sand
  • Midnight
  • Ivory Tower
  • Gallery Black (Old vB Default)
  • Pomegranate

Supported Styles
  • Gallery Black
  • Whitewash
  • Grey Matter

The easiest way to make the change is to use the "quick style chooser" located at the bottom of each page. Should be the last thing you see on the page. Just select one of the supported styles from the list of supported styles above and you're done.

Post your questions regarding Styles here.

Announcement re Sand becoming obsolete this month
Where is the quck style chooser? I can't find it anywhere.
Very disappointing news and, just as bad, the tiny "announcement" was easy to miss. Why wasn't it in my "News"? And where are samples of the new "supported styles?" Does that mean SmugMug is only offering three styles now - that is the way your announcement was worded. The three aren't shown under "Themes."

    Hi Bird Lady wave.gif

I think you're confusing SmugMug with Dgrin. These changes apply to Dgrin only. That's why you didn't see them in "News".

These styles are available to you via the quick style chooser you see at the bottom of each of the forum pages and only affect how you view www.dgrin.com.

Thanks for your post and sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

I didn't know that Sand was an option in Dgrin. I've just used the gray. You almost made me cry because I am finalizing my Sand web site right now. Whew!

:cry waaah. Eeew. I read about the change, but waited til I had to switch. Good heavens, couldn't you have left some in-between, medium, easy-to-read color at least? There's just nothing left that's easy on the eyes. Grey is way too dark & also depressing, white-washed is way too bright, and black is impossible for me. I've been on here for about 3 min. & my eyes are already going wonky. Sand was just so read-able. Please, please, either create or bring back something beige-ish, or in a medium, soothing range. Well, or.. it's one way to get rid of me!

Sand was my choice as well.

None of the three available look good to me.

I concur. Why did we need to get rid of the lesser used themes? Does it result in more effort on someone's part to have those extra themes? ne_nau.gif

They weren't compliant with the version of forum software we're running. Hope to have a cool new theme built one day, if I can get around to it!
