Hi everybody. The last time I posted photos on here, I was in Columbia, MO. For the past few months, I worked for the Office of Creative Services at the College of William & Mary. A few weeks ago, the new freshmen students moved into their dorms. I was assigned to shoot photos to accompany a news story.

I'm guessing a fair number of you have gone through the ritual of helping your kids move into to their college dorms. Feel free to share your memories, or any thoughts about the photos.

While many students had already spoken to their roommates through social media networks, freshmen move-in day is still the first time many of them and their families meet each other. In his sister Nicki's room in Barrett Hall, Sam Purcell assembles a fan during freshmen move-in day on August 20, 2010. Barrett and Monroe Halls on Old Campus do not have air conditioning, so many students brought fans. Moving in is usually a family affair as well.

Very interesting! I clicked because the college itself interests me after visiting it when I was in Williamsburg on vacation. It's interesting to see such a common, modern event and know it's in such a historical place.
