    Judging by the position of her left hand, which is not in a good spot for using a camera, flash, gray card, or other photographic device, I'd guess it's actually some sort of musical instrument.

    If she were in the southern USA, I'd say she was playing the spoons.

    Holy Cowsills! I just looked up "playing the spoons" on Wikipedia, and darn if they aren't used in Russia, too!

    I'm going with a camera or mirror. I would think that she is looking at her hair and the clip that's holding it back and thinks it's not to bad.
