#5 is a really unique shot, with the doors open but the gear still up. I like it just for that.

#4 is a great shot for showing just how busy DCA can be.

And I love the way you can see the runway reflected with near-perfect clarity on the fuselage in #7

Side note - before I even looked at your avatar to see where you live, I recognized DCA because of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge in the background. I used to work for a company that did a lot of work on the planning and construction of the bridge and the 4 major interchanges on either side of it, and I was able to walk across the first span during a contractors open house just after it was completed but before it opened in 2006.

There are some shots that would look good hanging on any airports walls here. Nice.

When I saw the PSA livery, I almost fainted :D

Nice work. Reminds me that I should head to the end of the runway one day.

Wow, you must have been out there for at LEAST half an hour to catch all those planes!rolleyes1.gif

I really like #2 Frontier Airlines climbing and banking. Something about the angle makes that really stick out for me.

#6 looks like it's been a workhorse for a while, ready to get another flight over with...

are 2-5 the same type of plane?

#2 and #5 are almost the same types. #2 is an Airbus A320 and #5 is an Airbus A319. The '319 is just a few feet shorter, but otherwise the same.

#6 entered service in 1990, so it's been making medium-haul flights several times a day for 20 years.

#7, on the other hand, is just a few months old as is evident by the shiny, scratch-free metal.

Curt (concord977) and I are heading to DCA at 4PM for pictures tomorrow. We will be at Gravelly Point. There is a chance of T-Storms, so you can send me a PM with your cell if you are planning to go so I can let you know if plans change.
