Doesn't look very trying to me; looks like a refreshing dip followed by an excellent lunch. The salmon doesn't get any fresher than that, dude!

Really wonderful captures, Jason. What lens were you using? The DOF is not as narrow as I've seen on a lot of bear shots, which makes me wonder just how close you got to the bear.
What I said when I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time: "The wide ain't wide enough and the zoom don't zoom enough!"

70-200mm on most of these. at some points the grizzlies were well within 5'.

    ...
    Five... feet?
    From a grizzly bear?
No wonder the pictures are awesome!
I would've been shaking too hard to hold a camera, nevermind actually take pictures.

Also... I LOVE the closeup picture where the bear has the salmon in its jaws.

Very VERY nice shots. I'd love to get shots like these. Were you in a blind or have any kind of protection?
C&C always welcome. I can't learn if I don't know what I've done wrong or could do better.

no protection, no blinds. i did the four day trip w/ this tour company, if you want the best bear experience this is the one. it's expensive, but lifetime experiences aren't free.

Well, you know what they say:

If you're gonna be a bear, be a grizzly!
