Part of the Pentatomidae superfamily a.k.a Stink Bugs, this little guy was lurking on the seed head of a poppy plant. I was in the middle of photographing my Bees when somehow, I managed to spot it. Probably about 10mm in length and 8 mm in width. Very bold little creature.
I think this is the Hawthorn Shield bug variety amusingly titled Acanthosoma Haemorrhoidal
All handheld, no stacks (as I'd have messed that up )

The rest of these images all at 1/200th @ F11, ISO 100
Some back detail
And an obligatory splash of colour to finish

I think the trick with these guys is to pull back a little and get more surroundings in without cluttering it up. This little guy was really bold and was actually tilting backwards to look at me when face on. A tiny little nudge allowed me to get the side profile shots. As soon as I saw all those little black dots on his underneath I simply had to make sure I got those shots too
I also think with him being on the tip of the seed head helped.
