Hurricane Earl: surfing and paddling in the Rhode Island Surf
Complete with my Aquatech rain gear I headed to the beach yesterday like most of the State of Rhode Island who were asked not to leave there houses unless necessary...this, I deemed, was necessary!
It was was dark, grey wet and very hot but boy was this fun to watch. Normally, the seas are full of surfers but with 15 to 20' waves there was only one surfer in Narragansett Beach and the most incredible surfer at Point Judith Lighthouse (3rd shot)
I was trying out my new EOS 1D Mk IV in really tough conditions paired with a 300 f/2.8 and a 1.4 teleconverter. I have kept a away from using the TC for action but it held up very well.
Hope you enjoy
I have many more cool shots and will be posting a slideshow to my web site soon.
