The D90 was at 1/200th and f8. I had an SB900 45 degrees between my subject and camera right. It was in a 3 foot octobox and was level with her face. The SB600 was camera left directly beside me in a shoot thru umbrella. I had it close to me so I could get a bit of fill on her face but keep the sheet lit properly. Thanks for the comments!
Very nicely done Brock. Just goes to show, you don't need ten grand worth of studio lights to get even, soft lighting on a subject.
Of course, I'd never be able to achieve it myself; I just don't have the patience to set things up and play with them till it comes out right. But maybe one day...
What I said when I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time: "The wide ain't wide enough and the zoom don't zoom enough!"
Lol nope we were not. I thought that the second I looked at the lcd though. I was just shooting away and someone grabbed the sheet and put it on her head haha. Thanks for all the kind comments! This actually helped me get a shoot next week. Her mother saw the image and is having a birthday party where they will all be wearing "real" traditional dress and they want me to shoot it. Hooray!
