Why do some posts show the picture as an attachment and others don't? How do they do that? It also seems that the ones that do not show the picture as an attachment with the little paper clip symbol look sharper? Is it just me or is there more than one way to do this???

Hi and welcome.
You can attach your image or link from a online gallery.
The attached image needs to be a small file and usually 1 file per post.
Online gallery you can have several.
