Martinsburg, WV - Air Show

I took this photo at the Martinsburg, WV - Air Show over the weekend with my Canon 50D with the Canon 70-200mm F2.8L non IS lens. Please comment or make any suggestions. I will be attending another air show in two weeks at VA Beach to watch the Blue Angels and I would like to make adjustments as needed. Any suggestions for lens filters to use with so much sun or suggestions on settings on the 50D would be greatly appreciated. This photo was taken at Shutter Priority, F5, 1/1000, ISO 100.

    Composition is really cool here with the crossed jets!

    Not sure If I'd like to see the second jet a bit sharper but I guess this works.

    Also, I wonder if the jets are just a touch darker than I'd like.
