Hi ALL!!!

I am looking for a wide angle and a zoom. A 28 or 32 prime, and a 300 2.8 prime.

Thanks,

    Hi Sonny!:D

I am Canonised, and I have the 14mm f2.8L II, and the 300mm f4L IS, and on a crop body these are great lenses, high quality, excellent performance and very versatile. Anything longer than about 14mm on a crop body is not going to make things too much different from a normal lens. If you're looking to expand your repertoire and if old Nik has equivalents in that other place down below then get 'em. You need VR for the telephoto, at least, unless you're going to keep it tied down on a tripod. I don't imagine they'd be cheap, but if you're very careful and know who you are dealing with you will probably pick up a couple of dreams 2nd hand. Look in Fred Miranda. 'Course you could go out on a limb(o) and get 3rd party, but you might have to lower some expectations. Not to say there aren't 3rd party gems, I'm sure there are, and I hope you can get some info about those.

(Looks like there have been developments in your life.)

    Hey Gramsp!!!!rolleyes1.gif

OOOO, I have missed this. :D

Anyways, as you know I use Nikon, and I am not switching over. I am just now putting out feelers for these two lenses because I n the future I can buy them. Hopefully I can at least save up enough money for the 300mm 2.8 vr Nikkor lens. I can wait on the wide, but I really want to start using a zoom.

Now for my ramblings to you.

College has started, and so far it is going pretty well. I am actually sitting in the cafeteria right now waiting till one when David Grupa comes here to give a presentation/speech to the VCT(Visual Communications) classes.

Thanks for the name you said I could check up on.

Thanks for your news. I am back in Oz.

You will get your 300mm sooner than I got mine! I got a beautiful copy 2nd hand for about half the price it costs new here, from the buy and sell forum at fredmiranda.com, which I already mentioned. I thought I was getting it mainly for telephoto shots, but when I looked through it the whole world looked so much more interesting, brilliant, from closeup to mid-distance and beyond, that for the first couple of days I was walking around with it stuck to my face going ooh! ooh!!:D
