Want sharing only for admin

Sharing features sound great. I just do not want anyone using them but me. How can you have the share features active only for the owner of the homepage, i.e. me, the admin?

I get it now - sharing is there only for me. so says the link below. I figured if it needed to be turned on, it meant it was on for everyone. Might want to say that next to the option in the future.

Oh man. I just enabled Sharing because, as the link above to the help document said, only the owner would see the sharing option.

But I just tested it and WRONG, the whole world can see and use the sharing option.

Please help me understand how I can:

Easily send a link directly to a photo or a video without anyone else being able to do the same unless they have the link I sent.

    THANK YOU!

Hi! The only part that is Owner Only by default is the Show Off feature which is what you linked in your second post.

The Share button you can turn off and you would still be able to get the necessary links to share your images. In the Gallery Settings page, turn off easy sharing - this will remove the Share button. Now you can simply copy and paste the URL address bar from whatever page you are viewing at the time and send that off in an email. The link from the URL address bar is exactly the same as what you would get under Share > Get a Link.

    Hope this helps!

Zack, Thanks a lot! Though I turn off easy sharing I still need to allow external links, right?

You can have easy sharing and external linking turned off. Here is a link to one of my galleries, both are turned off. Still works just fine :). External links set to NO will block photos from being posted in forums.
