As the Tucson Monsoon season winds down it left this fine sunset tonight.

Amazing light and very well controlled exposure. I really like how little land has been included, makes the sky seem so vast.
I prefer the first image, the position of the trees gives a more pleasing composition and the clouds seem more dynamic.

Thanks for the compliment and input Owen. I agree that number 1 works better.

I like #1 with the details in the clouds and lighting. #2 seems to have a white balance or saturation issue to my eye.

Thanks. I agree the second one either just gets dumped in the bit bucket or I need to slide the frame a bit to the left and work on desaturated the color intensity. When I get home I'll take a look at the WB. I know I just took it as it was and did not try shifting it at all.

The second shot was later so you have the darker reds coming out but the the clouds in the first one are much more interesting to my eye.

i like #1's clouds and composition better, but wish it could have a bit more black at the silhouette base like #2.

    great shot!

Thanks Navin. That should be an easy tweak. I'll give it a shot.

    Reworked versions
I reworked these based on the input received. Re-framed #2 and dropped the saturation about 10% and increased the blacks a bit.

    Better or not?

    2. is better but to be honest, 1. is the winner with much more interesting cloud formations. I'd be inclined just to be content with one very nice image of this scene.
