Michael - this would be a wonderful addition to our "Location: USA" forum. I'd love to move it over...

Anchorage is a pretty big city. I liked the Farmer's Market and the walk downtown through the older homes (near the water).

What killed me was the giant lot where all the snow gets pushed into :)

Thanks for bringing back great memories of Anchorage as I was stationed at Elmendorf AFB from '85-'88. Have you been on 4th street for the start of Iditarod? Great photos!

Thanks for the comments! I hope to be able to get out and get some more pics from around town to post.

Photodad1: I have not gone to the start of the Iditarod yet. I have been here for a total of 5 and a half years...I gotta do it. I will be here for at least another 10 so I should be able to.

Angelo: That thread hasn't been updated since 2008?

Ian: I need to get some pics of the farmers market....lots of interesting people there!

Thanks! I do plan on trying to get downtown on a regular basis and just get some nice shots to share. Winter is coming and I love black and white winter shots....hmmm.
