Munch

I looked in the garden late tonight (after 10pm) to see if anything was stirring. The only thing I found apart from my own cat, was this caterpillar half way up a stem on the welsh poppies growing in the rockery.

I just can't help myself but go in close and see what is really really there, and hence you get this nice close view of the munch sight. Not really sure if the 'piller ate the outside of the stem, more likely it had just stood there, but it may have eaten the greenery of the stem...

C&C as always.

Good captures Paul -Wonder if these do "sleep" or much away continuously ? - Never have really tried shooting at night but it's supposed to be good for finding spiders.

There are plenty of orb spiders in the garden at night. I have a monster lives in the underside of the birdseed feeder, she comes out at night, and a one that lives against the living room window, plus loads in the shrubs. When I go to the rockery, there's often a few wolf spiders that dart away. My Tegenara sometimes comes out of the shed too. I'm waiting for another biggie to show up, had a mouse spider once, never seen one since.

Slugs galore, occasional weevils and lots of moths flying (getting less as autumn comes).

Always on the lookout though. But I never find the diversity of the southern UK critters up here in the north!
