Watermarks continue to haunt me

I created a copy of an image for the current mini-challenge, placed it in my "forum pics" gallery (no watermark applied to the gallery) and then embedded the pic in the contest:
contest post with watermark appearing:

original gallery (watermarked):

copied image from non-watermarked gallery:
Are others seeing the watermark on that too? I checked the link on the copy and in the original (watermarked) Chicago gallery on my site...it all looks ok. When I go to the link from outside my galleries, it is watermarked like in the post above.
Am I taking crazy pills? :huh

I was finding old watermarks and some of the SMug default watermarks on some sizes of my photos here & there. I mean, for instance, the Help hero told me that if I'd changed my watermark (which I did), I'd be best off if I went into each gallery and un-watermark all photos (or all that I wanted un-watermarked or updated with the new one). THen hours later, I was supposed to go into each gallery again & delete again. Then I could finally put the new watermark on them a few hours after that.

WW- I did use the specific watermarking process you mentioned (I learned the hard way several months ago as well on that...) and it's typically a bit messy doing so (as you said).
