Chosen Themes Not Displaying

Hello,

This is my first post, though I have been lurking from time to time.
I just recently upgraded to 'Power User' and was exploring the customizers. I did not write any css, but I did tick the 'Stretch' and 'Display SmugMug Header (Yes, Above...)' buttons. I then discovered that all my galleries which belong to communities displayed in the SmugMug Default theme instead of the theme I had chosen. No matter what I do they only display in the SmugMug Default theme. I've gone back to the customizer and put everything back as it was, (I think,) but I still cant get those galleries to display in my chosen theme. I have cleared my cache, refreshed, (ctl+F5,) and I'm still seeing those galleries in Default. I have also removed one of my galleries from its community, and the theme then displayed normally. When I placed that gallery back in the community, the theme returned to Default. What have I done? What did I break? How? How can I fix it? Am I missing something?

My SmugMug site is:
http://snoupi.smugmug.com/

The Galleries affected, (with the chosen theme in parentheses,) are:

You have "Smugmug" checked instead of "Custom" for appearance under
gallery settings. That will disable your customization.

No, it's community setting, sorry, the community you've chosen overrides your choice :(

Thank you both. I see that my galleries are all set to 'Custom' and 'Community'. Did this happen automatically when I ticked the customize button? Is there a quick way to set it back to 'SmugMug' and 'SmugMug' site-wide, or do I have to go individually to the gallery settings of each gallery one at a time?

I understand that the community would override my customizations on the community pages, but on my own site...? Does this mean that if I want to customize, I cannot join any communities?

    Thank you for your patience,

I have set all the affected galleries back to the 'SmugMug' setting, and that has done the trick.

I'm quite baffled, though, why a customized gallery's settings would be overridden by the community settings, even on its own site. eek7.gif

Many are baffled by that. It's just the way that Smugmug chose to implement communities and they either aren't interested in changing it or it just doesn't seem very important to them. If you want your own consistent custom look to your site, you can't use communities right now.

Just not true :D We'd love to change it. Spirit willing, flesh is weak. We have so many other things higher up on the priority list. We will get to this one day though.

This has been an issue for a loooong time. Communities are stealing content
by removing owners customization and providing their own branding. Whoever
thought of this in the first place didn't think of the customers. I can't think of
one reason why the owners customization/branding can't be in effect,
    especially for the Pros.

My point exactly. It isn't important enough to you to decide to do something about it. It's been this way forever. People have been expressing their desire for it to be different forever. You are deciding to work on other things instead of this.
