Point Lobos in B&W

This shot was taken at Point Lobos State Reserve just outside of Carmel in California. I liked the mood in the color shot but thought I'd try a black and white version. Could use some opinions if it's effective.

The color version brings out more details in the rocks, but alas, makes the bright sky more distracting. So it's a trade-off.

Thanks, Mark. Yes the rocks are darker and that was intentional on my part to expand the range and provide a little mystery down in the cracks. I'm trying to decide if it is actually working.

I like the color better. More of the detail stands out.

My 2 cents, I love the B&W. I find myself more distracted by the color image.
I am certainly old school though. Both are nice.

Its a tough choice, but I like the B&W slightly better, but only slightly. I think both versions are great, and have their merrits.

Thanks for the comment. It looks like it could go either way. I actually have developed a need for the BW version so I'm displeased with the response.
