So I work in a city. We have a problem with pegions out front sitting on the electrical wires, droppings on everything. So someone had a brilliant idea. They installed an electronic alarm. But instead of it being an alarm it makes sounds of eagles, hawks, seagulls, and woodpekcers. It's motion activated. All I hear not all day is.

Caw Caw, bang bang bang bang bang bang, screech screeech, caw caw, bang bang bang bang bang bang bang, screech screech.

OMG I wanna know who invented this thing. Why? So I can hunt them down and slap them.

and IT DOESN'T EVEN SCARE THE PIGEONS AWAY.

As annouying as it is it isn't all bad.

Watching people duck and run as they start to approac the building and this thing starts making wild bird sounds at them is hilarious.

Laughing.gif Probably invented by the same guy who came up with the plastic owls that you see perched on buildings, that make noises everytime a bird flies too close......lol They don't seem to work either ne_nau.gif I mean come on. Birds are dumb but they haven't survived for thousands of years by being that darn stoopid :lol

We had a huge tree here in town next to our house that was home to thousands of crows. It was terrible. Then last year that alarm thingy was installed. Drove me somewhat nuts at first, but guess what, the birds all left and this year have not had a problem and the alarm has not gone off since.

    It's a miracle!

Most of these have an undocumented feature, there is a hidden switch on them that can be remotely activated to adjust volume, or even switch them off completely. There are a couple of companies that make these remote controls, and they are fairly common. Winchester makes them, Benelli does as well, Mosberg, has several models, as does Ruger, S&W and Taurus.

    Enjoy
