Had my first shoot with the Baden-Würtemburg Glamour photography group today. They're a cool bunch of guys, but I am going to have to work on infiltrating my pinupnology and liking for more nikolaiesque stuff into the program. The style is a little Vanilla. Nevertheless, here are a few I like that :

    Hey partner!
Glad you keep the juices going! thumb.gif
    I like ##8, 9, 10 and 5 (in this order). clap.gif
    Details:
    • #1: Does nothing for me at all :cry
Seemingly awkward and unintersting pose, bland environment.
    • #2: While I kinda like the top part, squatting poses have always been a big turn-off for me. Having her sitting on a lowliest chair/support would change (improve) things drastically
    • #3: The front part is ok, and if you simply recrop it, it can be intersting. But when it comes to the leggies...rolleyes1.gif
      Repeat after me:
"I shalt never - as in NEVER - have my model's limbs in parallel lines with the space between them" deal.gif
Had she had her knees locked and the heels crossed, this could have been one of the top images...
    • #4: Ouch! :cry
The "crawling" arms/pose say "wild animal - keep your distance!".
The smile, chest and legs say "hey, look, I'm already topless, wanna play?"
The rest of the outfit, environment and lighting helps neither point and altogether creates a total mess.
      Talking about "mixed signals"...
    • #5: This is one of the top images in this series. I'm not a big fan of a big dark underexposed blob of a shirt, but in general it's cohesive.
    • #6: This could have been a much better image if:
      a) there were no yellowish corner panel growing from her head;
      b) upper arms were at a more distinct angle to each other (c.f. my comment to #3)
      c) left hand fingers were not in such a crazy position
      4) panties were out of the frame (IRL or cropped out)
    • #7: "boob grap" and full frontal position rarely work. This image is an extra proof as to "why"
    • #8: Nice! thumb.gif I would only crop out the dark edges, thus making it a typical 3:2. It would have all sort of positive effects.
    • #9: As I said, I like this one, too, even though I would crop out the blue and red parts and left only the jacket.
    • #10: an obvious copy of #8, it's nice and all, but it lacks her lovely waist/hip area and make her look "heavier" than she is.
    Lighting, etc.:
    • Your WB is all over the place
    • Lighting is fairly even and, as it often happens, uninteresting. Shadows are your friends. And you don't need many lights to bring a dynamics into your images, just two are often plenty.
    • Watch the BG and tiny details
    • Get the book "1,000 poses", go through them all and decide for yourself what works and what not.
    HTH & keep shooting! thumb.gif

number 8 and 9, are quite nice poses, and well executed I think. 10's playful looking expression makes the shot work well, that and she is good material to work with regarding her upper body.
