Thought I'd share a few more of my BW photos I've been working on. I call them BW photos, but they seem to need a different name.

1 -- Baby Brother

2 -- Gus

    WOWSER Mary,

These are stunning, I have to say , I think this series is some of
    your absolute best.

The process toning, composition, and sharpness are just top notch.

I'll bet Gus' Parents would love a nice print of that for Christmas.

    Very, very nicely done!!! clap.gifclapclap.gif
    Take care,

Really cool shots, Mary. That first one is just adorable. The style could be called hi-key? The only nit I have is the arm growing out of the back of the 3rd one doesn't do anything for the shot.

    Cheers,

Very nice Mary. Workup 1 in your high key styling is excellent. thumb.gifthumbthumb.gif
The edges in the grass a little abrupt maybe as opposed to slowly
    dissipating out to all white.

    Hi Mary,

You're doing an outstanding job with this kind of PP presentation. It's a real showcase for your vision and abilities. I think Michael and Joel each made a valid observation. I can't wait to see more of this style from you.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Thank you Craig for your kind words. I'm trying to improve on these. Learn something new every time I work on them :D

Gus's parents might like one of him. I'm working on their other dog's photo now...black dog...not easy to do.

    Again..thanks Craig :D

A golden owner -- welcome to the club :D Aren't they the best...but then any dog is a "wonderful dog".

I'm happy that you liked these. Thank you for taking a look and commenting. Look forward to seeing some photos of your retriever :D

    Hi Joel --

I'm glad you like them and thank you for bringing up the arm. I too agree with you that it's really out of place. Didn't know what to do with it when I was editing, but knew I wanted to keep the hand in there....so I re-did it. Actually redid 2 of them. Love getting input on my photos...it shows me where I can improve a photo visually :D

Thank-you for looking and commenting Joel -- it helped me make needed corrections.

    Hello Michael --

You and K-dog had me taking another look at my photos and I did some corrections. Your right about the grass...it is abrupt. Thank you for pointing it out. When it comes to grass it's really hard for me to work with it. I did lighten it and will post my corrections to the 2 photos soon.

    Thanks for your input :D

    Howdy Tom --

Oh don't say you want to see more -- This kind of editing is addicting to me rolleyes1.gif

Micheal and Joel did make good points and I re-did them. Hopefully you can take a lookie and let me know if its an improvement or not. I'm open to all suggestions as I really want to do well with these.

Thanks Tom for your kinds words ... it helps move me forward in this process :D

    My re-dos --

    Faded the arm --

    1004345621_TMre8-M.jpg

The grass made lighter and cleaned up the background. I don't really like the line of Ty's back (older dog) Might remove that.

I've owned chocolate labs and golden retrievers and currently have a golden/lab mix. Dogs are the best! I'll try to post a current picture or two soon, but there I do have a gallery where I keep some of the dog and puppy pictures here.

I look forward to seeing more of your shots. Truly lovely.

hi mary, excellent shots and PP clap.gif

#1 in the modified version is my preferred, the action adds a lot of emotion to the shot.

Looks like you really master the high-key conversions! I feel really inspired by those shots... I must find a good subject to try that out!

Now please send the next ones...

    Carmelo.
