Please let me know if there is anything you think I could do better on these images.

Yes, they are dark, I tried to get them as close to what I saw as possible.

    I really like the eerie feel of #1 - image creeping out of the dark. #2 is classic pre dawn too. Nice.

    In shot #1, the exposure was long enough that there are trails on about 5 stars visible. But they're very blueish, and because they're blue streaks, they don't look like stars, they look more like digital noise or dust on your lens. Personally, I'd clone them out.

    Aside from that, both shots are awesome. There's something about the way the Bay is reflecting the city lights in #2 that really grabs me.

    I tend to agree with the comments above, the star trails are a bit destracting, but the overall effect and feeling of the fod and light from Alcatraz makes a captivating image either way. I like the lighting for the forground subject in #2. Nice work!
