I recently returned from a trip to Chicago, and am trying to catch up with things a bit. Here are a few pics from August that I finally got a chance to process.

I like #4 with the five walking reflections of the three people. #2 is amusing as is #3.

#1 & #5 do not seem to break any new ground -- you have posted better variations of these.

Looking forward to your take on Chicago.

    Hi Richard,
I always enjoy your "nun" photos, so I like #1 with the nun and the graffiti.
I enjoy seeing your version of #3, it really cracks me up compared to my brother's version.

Looking forward to Chicago as well.

Thanks Liz. Small explanation: Liz's brother visited Madrid and we went shooting one morning. Here's Raul at work:

Is the dog ordering the "hair of the dog?"

For those who don't know the saying:

"Hair of the dog" is a colloquial English expression predominantly used to refer to alcohol that is consumed with the aim of lessening the effects of a hangover. It is occasionally used with respect to dealing with the after effects of use of other recreational drugs. It is a shortened form of the expression “the hair of the dog that bit you.” The phrase "bite the dog that bit you" is also commonly used in this sense. "Hair off the dog's back" is a slight variation of the term often used in Hiberno-English.

The dog at the bar made me laugh. What a hoot. I also like the reflection of the pedestrians in the window. Heck, I like them all Richard. Your contemplation of the shot is reflected in your work.

    ... I'm still peeling potatoes.

#3 is like "Which is the statue?"

I don't know Richard. Actually a lot of your shots leave me feeling dystopic, especially the last. The anonymous bodies watching over the most mundane of daily financial transactions. We are being watched...

Thanks for the explanation, misterb. I had heard that expression but never really knew what it meant.

I feel that way often. Of course, we're doing a bit of watching ourselves naughty.gif.
