Interesting but, for a little extra, you can get the big one.

True, but why spend more to lug a much larger power source to a remote location? To each their own, I guess, but this seems like a great concept to me.

Uh, it's Lithium Ion.. So it may be smaller, but it still packs a VERY big punch. Probably as much as their normal Vagabond with a Pb acid battery.

Pretty amazing numbers for such a small device. Even comparing it to the much bigger Vagabond II seems impressive. It's almost twice as slow but close to the same amount of shots per charge. I just bought a new Vagabond II and might seriously consider sending it back for the newer version.

Here are the numbers from PCB's site:

Vagabond III mini - 2 B1600 units, 1280 Ws total, 7 seconds recycle time and 250 shots per charge. 3.5 lbs

    Vagabond II - 2 B1600 units, 1280 Ws, 3.4 seconds, 287 full power flashes. 18.6 lbs

I just bought the Vegabond II today actually. Thought about waiting it out a tad longer for the new mini, but like you said.. probably gonna be sold out for a long time.. I dont care about weight, I'm young, I can handle it. I hire assistants that work for pizza and mountain dew :) They don't mind heavy lifting rolleyes1.gif

Actually spoke with them the other day (again) about the PLM situation. They say they're getting small numbers shipped but I've not seen/heard of anyone receiving them. This is my only complaint about them. They keep insisting it's a manufacturing issue. Then find someone else to manufacture them! It's not rocket science! We're not talking a high-tech item which needs special chips, etc. to make it work. It's a friggin umbrella for crying out loud...
