Trash the Dress
These are my friends; the Robinson's. They asked me to do a Trash the Dress shoot for their 5th wedding anniversary, how could I resist?
I had many thoughts and plans for a beach style TTD after looking at awesome images online. Just got in some great 40x60 reflectors and decided to use those also.......then plans went awry :rolleyes
At the last minute, Charlie was able to schedule a Paragliding adventure for themselves, cool. The day started later than planned, had to eat at their favorite sushi bar where the proposal took place 6 years ago. Got to the Beach 3 hours behind schedule (just in time for paragliding appt), but the paragliders were running behind also.....
Into the beach town we went for a carousel ride and air hockey (not planned) then back to the beach to watch them have a 1 1/2 hour long lesson on the safety of air travels......ugh (day is wasting):dunno
shot them on each of their 10 minute flights, by the time they landed, she changed into her dress with only 15 minutes of sun left in the day..... my gear (reflectors and such) was left in my car as we drove theirs down the beach itself. It was still fun and here is what we got.

My only "thing" with this is 12.. it looks like his right foot is non existent. Other than that the image is great, and the set is great.
She really trashed that dress, didn't she. Wouldn't it have been great to have her paraglide IN the dress? Not that you'd really be able to see it with all that gear they have on.
I'd agree with the missing foot issue, but I did laugh when I saw it though.
Anyway, nice set.

Thanks, yeah, after the shoot, they changed clothes in the back of their car into drier stuff, then we had to drive 1 1/2 miles on the beach and beat the incoming tide so we didn't get stuck Then we drove to town and they paid for dinner for me and my daughter, by the time it was all over, I left the beach about 10pm, got home at 11:30, was gone for a total of 14 hours.

Thanks, I can't do much about the foot, that's just the way things go....., but all in all, it was a great day, weather couldn't have been better and the sunset (as you see) was so beautiful!
I just had to laugh that in the 14 hours being with them, it was the last 15 minutes prior to sunset that most of the good shots happened, go figure!
