Luckily I don't see many of these about - one of the gardeners enemies, a vine weevil. I gather it's the grubs of these that do most of the damage by munching plant roots.
All shots 5Dmk2/MPE-65/430Ex flash and focus stacked using zerene stacker.

    Always perfection Mr. V, always.

One night last month, when I went out, there were at least 20 of those weevils on our front porch brick wall... there must have been a splurge of them cause now I don't see any... they were running around like crazy though, I couldn't stack anything :(( but I did get some neato squiggly vines in some frames with the bug :D

I think I'm going to cave and buy the MP-E soon, got any spares? lol

Have you get a set of ext tubes to go with your current macro lens ?

I have a very good 2.5x diopter that clips onto any lens (right now using 100mm F2.8) I'm not sure if it makes an already 1x lens into a 2.5x, or is additive and makes it 3.5x. Either way, it'd be nice to have 1 solid dedicated lens that can do it all small :D Although, my lens setup is probably half the length of the MP-E, and doesn't extend. I gotta remember those benefits.

I do have about 50mm in tubes, but its a huge pain looking through an F10 viewfinder, especially at night
