Well I can say that I like the moments you captured here in an editorial style which appeals to me.
My quips are with your white balance primarily, it's off just enough to be bothersome in some images in my opinion.
There are inconsistencies in #2 and #3 side by side although they are shot in the same location.
Most are crisp, clear and great focus on eyes where applicable.
If you look at the whites on #5, 7, 11 and 12, you can easily see the differences in the WB.
My guess this is in PP since I don't think the camera would have such differences with images shot in the same locations at about the same time of day.
The B&W's appear a bit contrasty lacking detail in the blacks overall.
I have to say #1 and #12 are my favorites :-)

I'm having a quandry about how to use the WB in LR3.

Maybe I'll just keep it "as shot" so that there's consistancy.

The B&W's were using the LR3 filter.. I think I like what I saw in the demo of NIK's Silver EFX Pro much more than LR3.

Thank you very much for your CC!

I shoot RAW and use CNX2 with Color Efex Pro but there are still major inconsistencies with filters such as "Remove color cast" even in two images shot at nearly the same time of day and location.
I'm still looking for a happy medium when processing and work-flow on large jobs,
I'm in the process of creating adjustments that work for specific shoots so that they can easily be called upon for future reference and use.
As is should be consistent within a reasonable margin.
I so need to get a gray card soon :-)

General comment about all the shots - they are all sooooo centered .... that is, your primary subject apperas in the very center of the image. This is usually not a good thing to do unless you have a purpose for doing so.

WB is off (or at least inconsistant). Your #2 image looks to be more than just a bit red/magenta and #3 to be a bit orange. There are a number of ways to get the WB "right" in a shot:
    • Get a gray card and shoot a throw-away from of it in the same light as that to be used to light your subject. There are many such items on the market. Get one and use it.

    • Usually, one can sample the whites of a person's eye to get a good first approximation of a suitable white balance.
Your #9 image is, to my mind, one the best in the set. There's context, and interest, and mystery. Makes the viewer wonder what it is the ladies are looking at/reading. Quite nice. I think this would also work well as a mono-chrome image .... if you don't get too crazy with the post processing effects. :D

#11 - reminds me of "Three Blind Mice" illustrations - that's pretty cool. Would have been better if that light fixture weren't growing out of the lady's head.

Thanks for posting. I enjoyed looking. Many of these I would not have dared to take myself - very challenging

As for the gray card- gotcha!

Will do- I plan on stopping at the camera store very soon.
