A great set of images, nice cross section of Alaska. 1, 5, & 9 are my favorites. Lots of great colors and details. My only nit would be to straighten the horizon on a couple.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Wow, what a magnificent set of images! Almost too hard to pick a favourite, but #5 is just superb. And Alaska has now moved way up on my list of places I want to see.

Thanks all for the comments. I took #5 on a completely overcast rainy morning, but actually behind those clouds are what you see in #1 (the dock is just to the left of the lake). Interesting how the weather and light can transform the mood of a scene, and so when shooting those canoes I had envisioned something contrasty, desaturated, and textured, and so thats how I processed it.

Thanks for the comments. Being my first trip there, the weather is not something I was prepared for. I usually like to chase the nice sunrise/sunset light, but in Alaska you really have to deal with what the weather gives you. The sun didn't set until around 12am, and rose somewhere around 4am. I had some (relatively) clear days in Denali, but for the most part it was all overcast, foggy, and rainy. I hear that's the norm.

This is a great set! I was just in Alaska at the end of August and loved the scenery. Can't agree enough about the weather as most days it was overcast and finding good light was sometimes tough. Looks like you had some beautiful weather on the White Pass train in Skagway.
