takes a long time to create a new gallery

when I select, upload > create new gallery it takes over a minute to get to the point where I can name my gallery and apply gallery settings..why so long? It's been like this for a long time.

It's been taking anywhere from 45 sec to 85 sec here, I've been timing them.
This is after clicking "upload" then "new gallery" and waiting for new gallery page to show.

Just tested again and gave up after 2:06 minutes.
2nd try >> 30 sec.
3rd try > 33 sec
From inside gallery
30 sec
19 sec

Clear cache
in gallery 13 sec
sub-cat 10 sec

Same here. All this week... just much slower than normal-- basically what Allen said for timeframes.

Just now from sub-cat gave up with add gallery after 2 minutes. Clicked again
and it took 30 seconds.

Click upload > new gallery. Create a new gallery page showed up 3:38 minutes later.
