Of these three, I like #2 the best. One naturally has to wonder whether that was an "F" on the sign. lol3.gif The first had good possibilities, but I think it would have been better if the person had been in focus with the rest blurred. Not sure I understand the point of #3. headscratch.gif

The first image would have been something really special if it had only been slightly more in focus. So, so close...

How have you found shooting with the old gear? I've re-entered the film world, but I don't think I'm much of a romantic in terms of moving back to manual metering.

The old gear forces me to slow down and much to my surprise I find that I enjoy the process more. I shoot 95% digital but started shoot film again about 18 months ago. I bought a broken Leica to put on the shelf.. had it serviced.. tested it with a roll of film and now I'm hooked.

Thanks for the feedback.. much appreciated..

really enjoy #1 and #2, the not-in-foucus dosent bother me at all personaly, but i love blury grainy stuff.
i think the first one suggest a strong emotion and the bluryness only underline that.
I also love the light and reflections. Its my favourite of these three shots and i find it very captivating.

I like the lines in the second one and that there are people in the far end of the alley too,
makes it interesting and my eyes really jump back and forth between the two groups of people and the fish-sign.

The nr3 is a big jawn... aaahhh... mmmmm =) but really, i dont feel anything when i look at it,
if there was some interesting play with light and shadows there, then maby...
but without light, a strong composition or interesting subjects, then its nothing to look at really.
But two good shots out of three is not bad at all =)

I totally agree about #1. It is wonderful. The blurry shape at the bottom mixed with the other unidentifiable shapes frame the person. Also, the two open doors create an unusual look. I like this a lot.

    Number two is my favorite..

I often wonder how my Olympus OM-2n film camera would fare if I used it today?

I think you would find it would fare rather well.. I have (had - my daughter has "borrowed it") Pentax K1000 that is still a joy to use.
