Hello,
i thought I will give a go. I took 3 exposures on each photo and combined them in Photomatix. Those are just test shoots thats why the subjects are not very beautiful. More work after weekend
Comments are very welcome !

first one, sky seems flat, where did the color go?
second one, I think I would try desaturating some of blue on the roofs. I need to try some evening/night HDR yet.

Thanks for comment.
I'm also new to HDR, and I have found an interesting alternative to HDR software: exposure blending. There is a Lightroom plugin called Enfuse that does pretty much automatically what you would get with exposure blending using layer masks. So far, I like it much better--the results are generally more realistic and don't distort colors the way HDR often does.
