Hi, currently I use a PC, and would like to get LR3...but thinking of going to a Mac in the future. If I buy LR3 for windows, and get a Mac down the road, do I have to buy a Mac version again, or can you trade somehow? Thanks!

I believe you can get Adobe to provide a sidegrade serial number at no cost.

Adobe's policy has been that you can switch platforms for free if you are on the most current version of the product. So if you get LR3 for Windows, you can get a Mac version of LR3 for free until LR4 is released. After that, you will need to pay an upgrade fee.

LR3 is a dual platform program. You won't have to do anything. As for CS5, Adobe will send you a version for whatever platform switch you make. I think it cost me $6.95 or so for shipping to get the new disk when I switched to Mac.

Adobe will let you run LR on two machines under one licence anyway....
