I have so many memories of getting bit by these suckers at my aunts lakefront cottage. Well, at least by what we called horseflies.

These are amazing shots, the eyes are wonderful!

I have an inground pool in my back yard, and those suckers will hurt you. How in the world did you ever get one to stay still? Great shots Phil, The big eyes are my fav.

Wonderful shots Phil - nasty flies with beautiful eyes !
Tried a few times to find out why these horse flies have such patterned eyes but not found anything so far.
