So I thought I would post a few images from my summer. Oh how I am going to miss you my friend Mr Summertime! I will say though, my summer was packed and very educational! I will post a few of the highlights from it. Possibly one from last winter so i can start to think about whats coming....Soon.
1. I would say the highlight for me was shooting trackside at an IHRA event. What an experience standing 5ft from an 8000hp dragster is! Simply nothing like it!
2. I went to the ALMS race that was at Mosport in August with my son. We camped infield for the weekend, what a blast! I also gave him (15yr old boy) my 2nd camera - needless to say i have alot of pics of the Grid Girls! Honestly, they were all his doing! :wink
3a. I shoot alot of events at a local MX park. This year he tried a few different events like Rock Crawls and Tuff Truck events. What a blast! These are for you off road lovers!
3B. I still cant get over what they can do with their vehicles!
4. Back to drag racing! I was able to follow a friend of mine who started a Pro Mod race team this year. If you arent familiar with Pro Mods. Basically, take a huge blower, stick it on a huge engine and stick it within the fenders of a... well what ever will take it! Then, just hold on for a 5-6 second ride!
Anyone know if a polarizer will work in a situation like this? And if so, any deals on a 105mm version?!
5. I do some stuff for a company that puts on Moster Truck shows and this is what happens when you have a derby car that breaks down before the freestyle portion of the Truck show!
6. Now.. The reminder that the cold stuff is coming back - but looking at this pic - I may be ok with it afterall! This is from the ISOC/CSRA snowcross race that was in Sarnia Ontario back in Febuary. If you have never been to a snowcross race - DO IT! What a blast. Dress warm and go out. When the pro's come out - you will be grinning from ear to ear! Here Levi Lavallee is getting some air time while i play with slow shutter speeds and rear curtain flash.
....And one last one - because i cant get enough freestyle! Here Jeff Mullin from the Slednecks crew does his thing!!
Well, thanks for sticking with me on this little walk down memory lane! I hope i have pleased the DGrin Gods and they can remove that nice message now! I promise to post more pics, i promise!!
