This weeks Yosemite loving!

Since it seems that I only shoot in Yosemite these days (seriously, I need to get out more) here's this weeks elopement. I really love that the groom wasn't into having his picture taken on his own, but really wanted to do it because it was important to his wife. He put in a HUGE effort and overcame a lot of shyness. As always, more on my site chocked full of yosemite weddings.
I'm not sure why, but I felt the need to add some grain to these - before any tells me I used too high of an iso

I like the bride's expression for #3, and #5 is definitely my fav.

Patrick what is your light source when you're using flash, BTW? bare or diffused? I notice it is very consistent and very flattering...

Ted I know what you mean about the lines in #5 - it's so cool when things start looking like that in the forest.
Dee one thing that I have found is that when these pictures get printed up nice and large (I shoot with the plan of me clients buying big prints) everything starts to take shape and reveal itself better than in a smaller format - #4 for example. I really wish I could have pushed some light at them in #1 to help them pop a bit more, but that was during the ceremony as they were exchanging vows so I wasn't about to move a light it. In fact the general crapiness of the light on them made me shoot much wider.
Thans Matt, I am really loving the new grain in LR 3. So far it prints up very well and has a great organic feel to it. It really works well for these outdoor weddings. A few months ago I picked up a Foursquare softbox (http://www.lightwaredirect.com/examples/index.html) for my outdoor work. It's a 30" softbox with room for 4 hot shoe flashes inside and allows me to pump out tons of light if I need it. It works well and I don't have to carry around a carry battery any more (alien bees).
