Hikin' Mike

Took a side trip to the local Wildlife Refuge on the way to work this morning. The Elk were pretty active today! I wish he were a bit closer, but I'm just happy he stayed within reasonable range while I walked (w/walker) up to the fence to get the shot!

Very cool Mike, where did you find this guy, I know there is a fairly large herd near Buttonwillow, I didn't know of any other close..

San Luis NWR on Wolfsen Road off of highway 165 near Los Banos. They keep about 50 out there and when the population gets too much, they relocate some to other areas.
